Why can't I change the email address where my reminders are sent?

Unfortunately in 2023, Simply Remind Me was the target of spammers abusing our platform. They used Simply Remind Me's feature to send reminders to different email addresses to send spam messages to thousands of email addresses not affiliated with them.

This resulted in our email provider suspending Simply Remind Me's ability to send email reminders for all other users.

We have introduced a feature called "trusted sending" that allows us to flag individual accounts as safe to send reminders to email addresses different to their own.

How do I enable trusted sending on my account?

To enable trusted sending, we need to verify that you are a legitimate user. To do this, we ask you to make a payment through our payment gateway by purchasing a small credit pack (£1.20, $1.50 or €1.40.)

This allows our payment gateway to verify your identity with your bank. Scammers will not make a payment or will try and use fraudulent card details which will get flagged by our gateway and fail our risk checks.

If you signed up for Simply Remind Me before 10:30am (BST) on 27th October 2023, trusted sending was automatically enabled on your account and you don't need to take any further action.

Do I have to make a payment? I thought Simply Remind Me was free?

Simply Remind Me is and always will be free to send email reminders. You can send free email reminders to your own email address (for your account) without making any payment.

After you have made one payment, trusted sending is enabled on your account and no further payment is required.
